Valencia set price for Arsenal target Mustafi
Valencia will allow Arsenal target Shkodran Mustafi to leave if they received a bid of £26 million, according to reports.
Guillem Ballague, Sky Sports’ resident Spanish football expert, claims that Valencia are keen to sell Mustafi in order to comply with the Financial Fair Play regulations, and would accept an offer of £26 million.
Ballague also reports that Arsenal are interested in the German defender, so a deal could well happen before the transfer deadline passes.
Mustafi, 24, was part of Germany’s World Cup winning squad in 2014, and he also featured in the recent UEFA European Championships in France, helping Joachim Lowe’s men reach the semi-final before being eliminated by the host nation.
The Gunners are known to be in the market for defensive reinforcements amid an injury crisis that has seen Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista ruled out with long term injuries.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is also believed to be tracking West Bromwich Albion’s Jonny Evans, as he looks to bolster his defensive options following his side’s opening day defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League.
It is also being widely reported that Arsenal are looking to add a top class striker to their squad before the transfer window closes, with Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette on their radar having failed with attempts to sign Jamie Vardy and Gonzalo Huguaín.
