Willy Caballero to join Chelsea on free transfer
Former Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero is to make a move to Chelsea this summer as a replacement for the departing Asmir Begovic, who has joined Bournemouth permanently this summer.
Willy Caballero was released by Man City coach Pep Guardiola just a few weeks ago and his agent has found him a suitable replacement club in the form of the Premier League champions, Chelsea.
Blues' boss Antonio Conte is a big fan of Caballero and the club have offered the shot stopper a two-year deal to move to Stamford Bridge.
It is understood that Chelsea's primary target may have been Wojciech Szczesny, who now looks set to make a move to Juventus from Arsenal.
Former Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic requested a move away from Stamford Bridge in May after failing to force Thibaut Courtois out of the Blues' first team and wrapped up a transfer deal to Bournemouth two weeks ago.
The 35-year-old Argentinian Caballero will link up with his new team-mates in pre-season training next month.
