Leicester City enter race for Kelechi Iheanacho
Soccernet Nigeria report that Man City forward Kelechi Iheanacho could be set for a move to Leicester City this summer. The out of favour yet prolific forward has been told that he is free to leave the Etihad Stadium.
According to reports, Leicester City has moved ahead of West Ham as favourites to lure the Nigerian international to their club in this transfer period. Iheanacho has enjoyed a successful spell with City but has been unable to dislodge Sergio Aguero from the Citizens' first team and the recent arrival of Gabriel Jesus has further decreased Iheanacho's chances of regular playing time.
Craig Shakespeare, the Leicester City boss, has told Ahmed Musa that he can leave the club this summer and Iheanacho will be brought in as a potential replacement for Musa.
The Foxes are to open discussions with Man City and manager Pep Guardiola regarding a move for Iheanacho in the coming weeks. Reports indicate that Leicester City will pay up to £25 million to land the highly rated striker.
