Man Utd target Ivan Perisic to stay at Inter Milan
Manchester United's summer target Ivan Perisic is to stay put at Inter Milan, despite Jose Mourinho reportedly calling the Croatia international midfielder by telephone personally last week. The Inter Milan player now looks set to extend his stay at the Serie A side and will sign a new five-year deal at his current club.
Ivan Perisic has been persistently linked with a move to Man Utd throughout the whole summer and has as yet to have spoken about his long-term future. However, Croatia international team coach Ante Coric today told reporters at the national side's training camp that Perisic will not be leaving Italy.
Coric quipped: "I spoke to Ivan Perisic, he is happy in Inter. The coach appreciates him, they are preparing a new contract for him."
Man Utd manager Jose Mourinho will now be hoping to bring in other targets before the transfer window slams shut in two days time, with a move for Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City being considered.
