Inter Milan want to sign Chelsea striker in January
Inter Milan are reportedly weighing up an approach to sign Olivier Giroud from Chelsea when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
The Frenchman has started the current season as the second-choice striker behind Tammy Abraham and there have been occasions where Michy Batshuayi has also been preferred ahead of him.
According to The Sun, the Nerazzurri are aiming to strengthen their strikeforce further at the turn of the year and Giroud has been earmarked as one of their prime transfer targets.
The San Siro outfit recruited the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez (on loan) during the summer and they are expected to compete with Lautaro Martinez upfront.
Still, manager Antonio Conte seems keen on a reunion with Giroud after previously recruiting him for Chelsea from Arsenal during the 2018 winter transfer window.
Giroud was expected to command a regular role with the Blues this season but the emergence of Tammy Abraham has meant that his gametime has been reduced under Frank Lampard.
Chelsea are currently banned from making any signings until next summer but they are optimistic that the embargo will be lifted by the Court of Arbitration of Sport by January.
