Real Madrid prepare shock £68m swoop for German striker
According to Daily Mail, Real Madrid has become the latest club to show interest in RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
The report also adds that Los Blancos are planning a £68million swoop for the German striker, who has been heavily linked with Premier League giants Chelsea and Liverpool.
Werner has been highly tipped to make a summer exit despite signing a new contract with the Eagles.
The 23-year-old is currently the second-highest goalscorer in Bundesliga this season, racking up 18 goals and 5 assists in 17 outings. He is also proving out to be the go-to striker for Julian Nageslmann in the Champions League.
Madrid are also said to be tracking Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Lille striker Victor Osimhen.
Zinedine Zidane seems keen on bringing a back-up striker to Karim Benzema as the French manager has been disappointed with the summer signing Luka Jovic, who is currently going through a rough patch in his first season.
Los Blancos are trailing the table-toppers Barcelona only by the goal difference in La Liga.
