Antonio Rudiger set to leave Chelsea this summer
Germany international Antonio Rudiger is expected to leave Chelsea before the transfer deadline after falling out-of-favour under Frank Lampard.
The centre-back has been a regular starter for the Blues over the past few years, but he has played no part for the club this term.
He was an unused substitute for the season opener at Brighton & Hove Albion and has since been left out of the squad to face Liverpool and Barnsley.
According to The Telegraph, Rudiger is expected to pursue a fresh challenge away from the Blues before the transfer deadline on October 5.
He is currently the fifth-choice centre-back with Kurt Zouma, Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen and Fikayo Tomori preferred ahead of him.
Rudiger has been a regular with the German national side and he is concerned that the lack of game time could cost his place for Euro 2020.
A return to the Serie A has been touted for Rudiger with former club AS Roma keen on landing his services, possibly on an initial loan.
