Everton agree to sign former Chelsea goalkeeper
Everton have reached an agreement to sign Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic on a free transfer.
The Bosnian made 51 appearances for the Cherries last term, and he is now set to return to the Premier League.
The 34-year-old had 12 months remaining on his contract, but the Cherries agreed to release him.
He has already undergone his medical with the Toffees and finalised terms over a two-year contract.
An official announcement is expected on Sunday. Begovic will act as the deputy to Jordan Pickford.
The former Chelsea man will become the Toffees' first signing of the transfer window.
There could be frantic activity in the coming weeks with manager Rafael Benitez eyeing several players.
Prior to that, they need to recoup some funds. Andre Silva, Yerry Mina, Cenk Tosun and Tom Davies could be sold.
James Rodriguez made a good impression in his debut campaign, but he could also be shown the exit door.
The Colombian is assessing his options after Carlo Ancelotti's exit. The Toffees are willing to sanction his sale.
