Arsenal interested in former Liverpool star?
Arsenal have reportedly joined Newcastle United in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum in January.
The Dutchman joined Les Parisiens on a free transfer over the summer after the expiry of his contract with Liverpool.
The move has not proved worthwhile as he has struggled to cement a regular starting berth under Mauricio Pochettino.
He is eyeing a temporary return to the Premier League, and Footmercato claims that the Gunners are looking at him.
The north London giants will be without Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey in January due to African Cup of Nations duty.
Mikel Arteta has admitted that the club may consider a new signing, and it appears that Wijnaldum is a realistic target.
The club have also been linked with a winter move for Lille's Renato Sanches, but he is only available for a permanent fee.
The French champions are prepared to sanction his sale if they receive a sum of around £20 million in the upcoming transfer window.
