Arsenal midfielder eyed by Newcastle United
Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has emerged as a potential winter target for Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe.
The Egypt international has barely played for the Gunners this term, and he could leave for free when his contract expires next summer.
According to The Mail, Howe is eyeing new signings with Premier League experience, and has recommended five players of his own.
Elneny is one of those on his radar, but it is unclear whether the north London club would be willing to do business at the turn of the year.
Granit Xhaka is back after a knee injury, but the Gunners may want to pursue a replacement before sanctioning Elneny's potential exit.
The club have been linked with Lille's Renato Sanches and Paris Saint-Germain's Georginio Wijnaldum over the past couple of days.
Elneny was the subject of interest from Galatasaray back in September, but the Gunners snubbed the approach from the Turkish giants.
He can sign a pre-contract with a foreign club next month.
