Chelsea defender ruled out of Man City clash

Andreas Christensen news

Christensen won't face Man City

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Andreas Christensen won't play any part against Manchester City tomorrow.

The Denmark international has been a key player for the Blues, but he will miss the Cityzens clash after testing positive for Covid-19.

There are no more coronavirus cases within the squad, but the Blues are definitely missing several key players in their backline.

Aside from Christensen, Trevoh Chalobah and Reece James are sidelined with hamstring injuries. The latter's setback is more severe.

Ben Chilwell won't play any part for the rest of the season. He has been ruled out after undergoing a surgery for a knee ligament injury.

The Blues are presently 10 points behind Manchester City for the top spot on the table. A defeat tomorrow could end their title pursuit.

They have beaten Pep Guardiola's side on three occasions under Tuchel, but face a tough task against an in-form Cityzens outfit away from home.

Manchester City are currently on a stunning 11-match winning league streak.
