Mikel Arteta makes William Saliba transfer decision
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has no plans of losing William Saliba during this summer's transfer window.
Saliba spent the previous campaign on loan with Marseille where he has made 51 appearances in all competitions.
His performances saw him voted as Ligue 1's Young Player of the Year, and there has been talk of him continuing with Marseille.
The French outfit plan to open talks over a permanent deal, but Arteta is firm with his desire of keeping Saliba at the club next term.
The 21-year-old has yet to make his competitive debut for the Gunners, but could make his breakthrough in the forthcoming season.
Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes are the first-choice centre-backs at the moment with Rob Holding being the regular deputy.
However, there will be plenty of rotation with European football next term which should boost Saliba's playing time at the club.
The centre-back's current deal with the Gunners expires in June 2024. It remains to be seen whether he will prolong his stay.
