Predicted Arsenal lineup (4-3-3) to face Vorskla, Mkhitaryan and Leno start

19 September 2018 - 14:55

Arsenal will seek to continue their three-match winning run when they entertain Ukrainians Vorskla in the Europa League group stage opener on Thursday night.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Gunners boss Unai Emery has already confirmed that he may consider a goalkeeping change but the team is still expected to include first-team regulars unlike last season where some of the young graduates were offered a chance.

    Formation: 4-3-3

    Predicted Lineup:

Bernd Leno has been warming the bench since the start of the Premier League season but he could make his debut on Thursday night based on Emery's recent comments.

In defence, Stephan Lichtsteiner should likely be handed his maiden start for the Gunners at right-back whilst Nacho Monreal should feature in the opposite direction with no genuine replacement in the ranks.

Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis have been the regulars at the heart of the backline but Emery may seek to offer opportunities to Konstantinos Mavropanos and Rob Holding, who have been waiting for their first-team chance.

Onto the midfield, Emery may hand Lucas Torreira his maiden start after featuring from the bench in the first five Premier League games and he could be partnered with Mohamed Elneny, who has not participated for the Gunners since pre-season.

Further forward, Henrikh Mkhitaryan could reclaim the number 10 role ahead of Aaron Ramsey, who appeared jaded in the final stages versus Newcastle - with Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck slotting into the right and left wing positions respectively.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has looked short of goalscoring form since the start of the campaign and Emery may seek to offer him the chance to lead the line on his own with Lacazette probably featuring later on from the bench.
