Predicted Chelsea lineup (4-2-3-1) to face Bournemouth, Giroud and Willian start

29 February 2020 - 13:41

Chelsea are scheduled to face Bournemouth on the road in the Premier League this afternoon.

  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?
  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?

  • The west London side have been inconsistent with their form over the past few months but they remain in the top four due to the shortcomings of the teams behind them.

    Predicted Lineup:

Willy Caballero has been preferred in goal for five games on the bounce and it won't come as a surprise, if the veteran keeps his place ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Lampard may revert to a four-man backline for the game and that could witness Marcos Alonso drop to the bench. Elsewhere, we are fancying a solitary change with one of Kurt Zouma or Fikayo Tomori replacing Andreas Christensen. The former may get the nod.

In the midfield, no changes are expected. Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho are set to keep their positions in the centre of the park. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is available after recovering from a long-term Achilles injury but he may be restricted to a bench role.

Further forward, the likes of Willian and Pedro could feature on the flanks. Mason Mount has been a regular in the number 10 spot and he should be fancied to start ahead of Ross Barkley, who had a poor game against Bayern Munich in midweek.

Upfront, Olivier Giroud is expected to start for the third-straight game in all competitions. The Blues are without Tammy Abraham, who has suffered another recurrence of the ankle injury sustained earlier in the year. Michy Batshuayi is likely to offer the back-up to Giroud.
