Predicted Chelsea line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Brighton & Hove Albion

20 April 2021 - 18:34

Chelsea are scheduled to host Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League tonight. The Blues can jump into the top four with at least a draw against the Seagulls.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Formation: 3-4-2-1

    Predicted Line-up:

Edouard Mendy has been the go-to choice for the Premier League and European games. He is expected to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal after the Spaniard's appearance in the FA Cup semi-final.

The backline could see a solitary change with Thiago Silva making way for Andreas Christensen, who has overcome a muscle injury. Thomas Tuchel has hinted that he may rest Silva after back-to-back starts.

There could be a complete shuffle in the wing-back positions with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Marcos Alonso replacing Reece James and Ben Chilwell respectively.

In midfield, N'Golo Kante and Jorginho are expected to start with Mateo Kovacic still on the sidelines with a hamstring injury. Billy Gilmour is an option, but the youngster has barely featured under Tuchel.

Further forward, Mason Mount is pretty much an undisputed starter in the attacking midfield. He may be accompanied by Christian Pulisic and Kai Havertz, who featured on the bench last weekend.

Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech combined impressively for the only goal in the FA Cup semi-final triumph over Manchester City, but they may have to settle for bench roles.

Predicted Chelsea line-up (3-4-2-1): Mendy; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger; Hudson-Odoi, Jorginho, Kante, Alonso; Mount, Pulisic; Havertz.
