Predicted Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Southampton, Nketiah and Holding start

16 April 2022 - 09:14

Arsenal face Southampton away from home in today's Premier League encounter. The Gunners will be aiming to return to winning ways after back-to-back losses.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • They are currently only three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur with a game in hand, but can ill-afford another setback, considering the tough schedule ahead.

    Formation: 4-2-3-1

    Predicted Line-up:

Aaron Ramsdale has kept 12 clean sheets during the ongoing league campaign, but will be hoping for another shutout at St Mary's. He is an undisputed starter in goal ahead of Bernd Leno.

In the backline, Rob Holding could be introduced at the heart of the defence alongside Gabriel Magalhaes. With Takehiro Tomiyasu still out, Ben White could feature at right-back with Cedric Soares on the opposite end.

Thomas Partey has been ruled out for the campaign with a thigh injury. In his absence, Granit Xhaka could be paired alongside Albert Sambi Lokonga for the remainder of the ongoing campaign.

Further forward, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli should be assured starters out wide. Martin Odegaard should continue in the number 10 role, but there could be a change up front today.

Alexandre Lacazette has been away from training for the past few days due to personal reasons. Irrespective of this, the Frenchman could be dropped, having not scored from open play this year. Eddie Nketiah looks set to start.

Predicted Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1): Aaron Ramsdale; Ben White, Rob Holding, Gabriel Magalhaes, Cedric Soares; Albert Sambi Lokonga, Granit Xhaka; Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli; Eddie Nketiah.
