Predicted Arsenal lineup (3-4-1-2) to face Rennes, Ramsey and Lacazette start

Predicted Arsenal XI vs Rennes at the Emirates

Arsenal entertain Rennes at the Emirates Stadium in the second leg of the Europa League round of 16 stage tomorrow.

The Gunners are currently trailing by a 3-1 scoreline and they need to win by two clear goals without conceding at the least to proceed to the last eight of the competition.

Formation: 3-4-1-2

Predicted Lineup:

Unai Emery is likely to revert to Petr Cech between the sticks for the European duties despite the excellent form of Bernd Leno in the Premier League of late.

In the defence, the Spaniard could fancy a three-man central backline once more and this may witness Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal partnering Shkodran Mustafi, given Sokratis is suspended for the game after his two yellow cards in the reverse fixture.

Ahead of them, Ainsley Maitland Niles and Sead Kolasinac are likely to retain their positions in the right and left wing-back positions respectively after their strong showing against Manchester United last weekend. While Maitland-Niles was impressive with his defensive showing against the Red Devils, Kolasinac was a threat on the attack with regular attempts to make crosses into the box.

In the midfield, Granit Xhaka is an undisputed choice to start after his strong performance against United where he came up with the opening goal. The Swiss has improved with his positioning as the season has progressed and he needs to show a similar awareness against Rennes. Alongside him, we are once more fancying a start for Aaron Ramsey, given the Welshman provides the additional attacking threat when compared to Torreira and Guendouzi.

In the attack, Mesut Ozil should retain the role behind the main marksman after impressing with his workrate and distribution against United at the weekend. Ahead of the German, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are strong candidates to start with the latter now available for Rennes game after his European ban was reduced to two games after a recent appeal.
