Predicted Chelsea lineup (4-2-3-1) to face Manchester United, Pulisic and Mount start
Chelsea will be aiming to return to winning ways when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford this afternoon. The Blues have played back-to-back draws since returning from the international break.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Lineup:
Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy missed the previous league game against Southampton with a thigh injury, but returned for the midweek Champions League clash against Sevilla. He is expected to make his second Premier League start.
In the backline, Cesar Azpilicueta may return to the right-back spot ahead of Reece James. Kurt Zouma and Thiago Silva are expected to feature in the central defence with Ben Chilwell occupying the left-back role.
Jorginho and N'Golo Kante have been Frank Lampard's go-to choices in the centre of the park, but the former could drop to the bench. Mateo Kovacic's high pressing could come to use with good effect.
In the attack, no changes are likely. Mason Mount has not been at his best from the left wing position, but he seems an undisputed starter under Lampard, given his tireless workrate.
Elsewhere, Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic are expected to take up the number 10 and right-wing roles respectively while Timo Werner will definitely lead the line after his brace against Southampton last weekend.
Predicted Chelsea lineup (4-2-3-1): Edouard Mendy; Cesar Azpilicueta, Kurt Zouma, Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell; Mateo Kovacic, N'Golo Kante; Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount; Timo Werner
