Arsenal still interested in signing Atletico Madrid star
Arsenal are still interested in signing Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier, The Sun reports.
The Gunners are looking to offload multiple players before the transfer deadline, and one of those is Hector Bellerin.
If Bellerin leaves the club, the club are likely to pursue a new right-back. They reportedly have their sights on landing Trippier.
The deal could be complicated as Atletico are reluctant to accept anything less than the £34m release clause on the defender's deal.
The Spanish giants were far from pleased with the Gunners' late decision to trigger the buy-out clause of Thomas Partey last summer.
There is no room for negotiations on the fee. In case of a swap deal, Atletico want either Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette.
The Gunners are unlikely to entertain losing either player this month as they are not close to bringing in a new striker before the deadline.
The club were interested in Tammy Abraham earlier this month before he made the move to the Serie A with Jose Mourinho's Roma.
