Predicted Arsenal lineup (3-4-3) vs Manchester City, Pepe and Lacazette start

22 December 2020 - 19:11

Arsenal are scheduled to face Manchester City in tonight's League Cup quarter-final at the Emirates Stadium.

  • Nottingham Forest agree deal to sign Chelsea target
  • Chelsea now want to sign West Ham star after Joao Pedro

  • The Gunners have a poor record against the Cityzens with seven losses and just one win from the previous eight meetings.

However, their solitary triumph came in a Cup competition as they beat the Cityzens in the FA Cup semi-final last term.

Their league form has been horrendous with just five points from the previous 10 games and will be hoping for a change in fortunes.

    Formation: 3-4-3

    Predicted Lineup:

Bernd Leno is likely to retain his spot between the sticks for tonight's meeting at the Emirates.

In the back three, Gabriel Magalhaes is expected to make his comeback after serving a one-game domestic ban. He is likely to accompany Rob Holding and Kieran Tierney.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles has started back-to-back league games and he could drop to the bench for Hector Bellerin. The Spaniard is likely to occupy the right wing-back spot with Bukayo Saka on the opposite flank.

In the midfield, one of Mohamed Elneny or Dani Ceballos could make way. We are anticipating the former to partner Joe Willock in the centre of the park.

Further forward, a couple of changes are likely. Alexandre Lacazette should lead the line ahead Eddie Nketiah. Willian had another poor outing in the league and Reiss Nelson could take his place.

Predicted Lineup (3-4-3): Bernd Leno; Rob Holding, Gabriel Magalhaes, Kieran Tierney; Hector Bellerin, Mohamed Elneny, Joe Willock, Bukayo Saka; Nicolas Pepe, Alexandre Lacazette, Reiss Nelson
