Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Nottingham Forest, Pulisic and Havertz start

01 January 2023 - 15:16

Chelsea will be eyeing back-to-back Premier League wins when they face Nottingham Forest on the road this evening.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The Blues are currently eight points behind fourth-placed Manchester United and must win to keep their Champions League hopes alive.

    Predicted Line-up:

Kepa Arrizabalaga has been manager Graham Potter's regular in goal ahead of Edouard Mendy. The Spaniard is expected to continue between the sticks against Forest.

The backline should see a solitary change from midweek following Reece James' knee injury. The Blues graduate is sidelined for a month after the untimely setback.

Cesar Azpilicueta should replace him at right-back. Kalidou Koulibaly and Thiago Silva will play in central defence with Marc Cucurella in the left-back position.

Jorginho and Denis Zakaria lined up against Bournemouth in midfield. We may see a change with Conor Gallagher coming in to replace the latter against Forest.

In attack, it should be a familiar quartet. Mason Mount is set to continue in the number 10 role with Kai Havertz playing as the main striker after his goal in midweek.

Christian Pulisic deserves his berth on the left wing while Raheem Sterling should likewise continue on the right flank. Potter may not want to tweak a winning combination.

Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1): Arrizabalaga; Azpilicueta, Koulibaly, Silva, Cucurella; Jorginho, Gallagher; Sterling, Mount, Pulisic; Havertz.
