Predicted Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Porto, Jorginho starts

21 February 2024 - 19:13

Arsenal face off against Porto in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie tonight.

  • Chelsea set £35m price to sell 20-goal striker
  • Arsenal considered favourites to sign Leipzig striker

  • The Gunners travel to the Estadio do Dragao and they will be aiming to end a three-match winless streak at the stadium.

    Formation: 4-2-3-1

    Predicted Line-up:

David Raya has been the go-to choice goal for most of the campaign and he is expected to continue between the sticks ahead of Aaron Ramsdale.

In front of him, it should be the same backline from the 5-0 rout of Burnley. Ben White and Jakub Kiwior will start in the full-back roles with Gabriel Magalhaes partnering William Saliba in central defence.

In midfield, Jorginho should be reinstated into the starting line-up in place of Kai Havertz to provide more defensive stability. Declan Rice is an obvious and assured choice to partner the Italian ace.

Further forward, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are nailed-on starters on the right and left wing. Similarly, Martin Odegaard is an automatic choice from the number 10 role for the London giants.

Up front, Leandro Trossard looks primed to start ahead of Havertz due to his pace and trickery up front. Gabriel Jesus won't be involved in the game, having yet to recover from a nagging knee injury

Predicted Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1): Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior; Jorginho, Rice; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Trossard.
