Predicted Chelsea lineup (3-4-2-1) vs Nottingham Forest, Hazard and Batshuayi start
Premier League holders Chelsea will entertain Championship side Nottingham Forest in the third round of the League Cup on Wednesday night. Antonio Conte is expected to ring in the changes for the midweek clash with several key players likely to be rested.
Lineup (3-4-2-1):
Belgian shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois is expected to be rested for the midweek game, and he could be replaced by Blues debutant Willy Caballero. Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are strong contenders to play in central defence and they could be accompanied by Cesar Azpilicueta, who rarely misses a game for Chelsea. Davide Zappacosta is likely to replace Victor Moses in the right wing-back spot while Marcos Alonso could retain hit spot as usual in the left wing-back position.
Tiemoue Bakayoko only played 45 minutes of the London derby against Arsenal, and he is a probable contender to start alongside Cesc Fabregas at the heart of the midfield. Moving forward, Antonio Conte could name an all Belgium attack with Eden Hazard and Charly Musonda likely to feature on the left wing and right respectively while Michy Batshuayi could take up the striker's position.
Chelsea lineup (3-4-2-1): Caballero, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger; Zappacosta, Alonso; Bakayoko, Fabregas; Musonda, Hazard, Batshuayi
