Predicted Liverpool lineup (4-3-3) vs Man City, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mane start
Liverpool face-off against Manchester City in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final at the Etihad Stadium. The Reds secured a comfortable 3-0 win over the Citizens in the reverse fixture, but they still need to produce another strong showing on the road with Pep Guardiola's side more than capable of making a comeback.
Formation: 4-3-3
Lineup:
Loris Karius has become the first-choice goalkeeper for Liverpool in the backend of the season, and he is expected to start between the sticks. He comes off a solid performance in the Merseyside derby which included a stunning save to deny Yannick Bolasie.
In defence, Trent Alexandre-Arnold and Andrew Robertson should maintain their positions with Virgil van Dijk and Dejan Lovren the preferred picks in the central defensive department.
Skipper Jordan Henderson is suspended after picking up a yellow card in the reverse leg, and this leaves Liverpool with minimal options considering Adam Lallana and Emre Can are still in the treatment room.
James Milner is likely to feature in the holding role with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Georginio Wijnaldum starting ahead of him in a three-man midfield.
Mohamed Salah returned to training after a groin issue, and the Egyptian is a strong candidate to start if deemed fit. Salah and Sadio Mane should take up the right and left wing respectively with Roberto Firmino expected to lead the line.
