Predicted Liverpool XI to face Chelsea - League Cup

Liverpool will aim to continue their perfect start to the season when they entertain Chelsea in the third round of the League Cup on Wednesday night.

Jurgen Klopp's side entertain the Blues at Anfield for the Cup tie before facing the same opposition on the road in the weekend Premier League match.

Formation: 4-3-3

Lineup:

Alisson Becker has been the constant when it comes to the goalkeeping duties this term but Klopp has confirmed that Simon Mignolet will start between the sticks in the League Cup.

In defence, Klopp is likely to ring in the changes with Nathaniel Clyne and Alberto Moreno in contention to make their first starts in the right and left-back positions respectively.

Meanwhile, central defence may witness a second game on the bounce for Joel Matip and we are fancying him to partner Dejan Lovren, who has been deemed fit after his pelvic problem which has hampered him since the summer.

In midfield, Jordan Henderson is likely to slot into the holding midfield position and in front of him, there could be starts for summer signings Naby Keita and Fabinho - with the latter having managed just one minute of first-team football this term.

Onto the frontline, Xherdan Shaqiri will most certainly secure his second start for the club after bagging two assists in the 3-0 league triumph versus Southampton over the weekend.

We are fancying the Swiss to start on the right wing in place of Mohamed Salah, who may feature from the bench while Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino could take up the left wing and centre forward positions as usual.
