Mikel Arteta responds to Georginio Wijnaldum speculation
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has refused to comment on the ongoing speculation linking Georginio Wijnaldum with the club.
The Gunners are likely to pursue a new midfielder in January with both Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny off for African Cup of Nations duty.
Lille's Renato Sanches has been regularly linked with them. In recent days, there have been suggestions that they are interested in Wijnaldum.
The Netherlands international joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer last summer following the expiry of his contract with Liverpool.
He has since struggled to nail down a starting position, and it has been claimed that he could fancy a potential return to the Premier League.
The Gunners have been linked with the Dutchman, but Arteta has refused to discuss about him citing that he is not contracted to the club.
He told Arsenal.com: "We are not going to discuss any players. He isn’t an Arsenal player, sorry."
Newcastle United have also been associated with a potential move for Wijnaldum. He was previously with them during the 2015/16 season.
