Predicted Arsenal lineup (3-4-2-1) vs BATE Borisov, Wilshere and Ozil start

27 September 2017 - 10:50

Arsenal will make the long trip to Belarus to take on BATE Borisov in a Europa League group stage game on Thursday night. The Gunners are currently on a five-match unbeaten streak, and Arsene Wenger will be hoping to extend the run with a positive performance at the Borisov Arena.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Lineup (3-4-2-1):

David Ospina has been the Gunners' Cup and Europa League goalkeeper, and he is likely to take the gloves from league regular Petr Cech. Rob Holding, Per Mertesacker and Nacho Monreal are likely to retain their places from the previous Europa League game.

Reiss Nelson and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are probable picks for the right wing-back and left wing-back spot respectively, but Wenger may opt to go with the senior pair of Hector Bellerin and Sead Kolasinac.

Onto the midfield, Mohamed Elneny is expected to start following his strong performance against West Bromwich Albion, and he could be accompanied by Jack Wilshere, who looked like his old self in his previous outing in the League Cup.

Mesut Ozil has barely featured for the Gunners in the last three games, and the German could take up a position behind the main striker alongside Theo Walcott.

Olivier Giroud is still waiting for his 100th goal in the Arsenal colours, and he could accomplish the feat at Borisov, where he is most likely to lead the line.

Arsenal (4-3-3): Ospina; Holding, Mertesacker, Monreal; Bellerin, Kolasinac; Elneny, Wilshere; Ozil, Walcott, Giroud
