Predicted Chelsea lineup to face Eintracht Frankfurt

Chelsea are scheduled to face Eintracht Frankfurt on the road during the first leg of their Europa League semi-final.

The Blues have cruised to the last four of the competition, but they face a tricky test against the Bundesliga outfit, who have outclassed the likes of Inter Milan and Benfica to reach the current phase.

Formation: 4-3-3

Predicted Lineup:

Kepa Arrizabalaga has been the go-to choice for Maurizio Sarri during the Europa League campaign with seven clean sheets from 10 appearances. He is expected to start between the sticks.

In the defence, Cesar Azpilicueta should captain the side from the right-back position but there could be a change in the opposite end with Emerson replacing Marcos Alonso, who has just recovered from a gluteal injury.

At the heart of the backline, Antonio Rudiger looks set to miss out with a recurrence of his knee problem. His absence should witness Andreas Christensen partner David Luiz in the central defence.

In the midfield, Jorginho and N'Golo Kante are certain candidates to feature from the off and they could be accompanied by Ross Barkley, who has been the regular choice ahead of Ruben Loftus-Cheek for the Europa League duties of late.

In the attack, Eden Hazard should start on the left wing with the importance of the fixture while Pedro should occupy the other flank with Willian's participation due to be assessed following an ankle concern.

Upfront, Olivier Giroud should lead the line ahead of Gonzalo Higuain. The Frenchman has been the outright choice for the competition this term and should continue to command a starting role with his good run of form.
