Predicted Chelsea lineup to face Ajax

Chelsea have the opportunity to extend their five-match winning streak across all competitions when they face Ajax on the road in Wednesday's Champions League clash.

The Blues have improved their performances on a game-by-game basis this term and they now have the chance to push for the top two places in their Champions League group.

The west London side are scheduled to face Ajax in back-to-back European games and they will be hoping to leapfrog the Dutch giants and potentially put themselves in a strong position to progress to the next round.

Predicted Lineup:

Blues boss Frank Lampard has experienced plenty of injury concerns at the back but fortunately, there were no setbacks in the recent league contest where the club registered a 1-0 triumph over Newcastle United.

Kepa Arrizabalaga will certaintly start between the sticks. Fikayo Tomori and Kurt Zouma should feature at the heart of the defence with Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso in the right and left-back places respectively.

In the centre of the park, N'Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are certainly out for the contest as they recover from respective injuries. Ross Barkley has similarly joined them after picking up an ankle concern against Newcastle United.

In this case, Mateo Kovacic should return to the starting XI to partner Jorginho and Mason Mount in the midfield. In the attack, there are no selection doubts with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Willian expected to feature on the flanks with Tammy Abraham leading the line.
