Predicted Chelsea lineup today vs Liverpool

Chelsea are scheduled to face Liverpool at Anfield later today. The Blues have won their opening two league games, and could go into the international break top of the table with another win.

The Blues have struggled against the Reds over the past few seasons, but they won in their previous trip to Anfield 1-0. With Romelu Lukaku in their ranks, they will be optimistic of another three points.

Predicted Lineup:

Edouard Mendy is expected to start in goal ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Thiago Silva may have to wait on the bench longer for his opportunity. Thomas Tuchel could stick with Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger as his back three.

Reece James grabbed a goal and an assist against Arsenal last weekend. The England international is expected to continue at right wing-back with Marcos Alonso accompanying him on the opposite end.

Mateo Kovacic appears certain to drop to the bench with the anticipated return of N'Golo Kante in midfield. He should partner Jorginho, who recently won the UEFA Men's Player of the Year.

Further forward, no changes are likely. More of the same is expected with Mason Mount and Kai Havertz playing behind Romelu Lukaku, who bagged a goal on his second debut last weekend.

Predicted Chelsea lineup (3-4-2-1): Edouard Mendy; Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger; Reece James, Jorginho, N'Golo Kante, Marcos Alonso; Kai Havertz, Mason Mount; Romelu Lukaku.
