Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-3-3) vs Lille, Werner and Kovacic start
Chelsea host Lille in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie tonight. The Blues will start as favourites, having won their last five games across all competitions.
Predicted Line-up:
Edouard Mendy has been an undisputed goalkeeper for the Premier League and Champions League games. The Senegal international is expected to start ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Cesar Azpilicueta is likely to return at right-back after overcoming a groin injury. On the opposite end, Marcos Alonso could replace Malang Sarr after his late assist off the bench for Hakim Ziyech's winner on Saturday.
Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger should be guaranteed starters in central defence. In front of them, Thomas Tuchel could go with a midfield three of Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and N'Golo Kante.
Ziyech should be an assured starter on the right wing. The same could be said for Havertz on the opposite flank. Christian Pulisic has struggled for form while Callum Hudson-Odoi is out injured.
Up front, Tuchel could make a shrewd decision by dropping Romelu Lukaku, who had just seven touches in the recent London derby. Timo Werner could be tasked with leading the line.
Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-3-3): Mendy; Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger, Alonso; Kovacic, Jorginho, Kante; Ziyech, Werner, Havertz.
