German forward Timo Werner has his sights on leaving Chelsea this summer amid the lack of assurances of game time.

The 26-year-old had a difficult second season with the Blues, registering just 11 goals and six assists from 37 appearances.

Ahead of next season, there are genuine doubts whether he will start games, and he is now said to be assessing his options.

Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz are widely expected to be lining up in attack for Thomas Tuchel next term.

Behind the trio, there is competition from Armando Broja, Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech and Ross Barkley.

With the immense competition, Werner is aware that he won't be an assured starter, particularly in the league and European games.

Werner has yet to receive any proposal on the table, but there are suggestions that he could prefer a return to Bundesliga.

Bayern Munich could be an option for Werner. They previously wanted to sign him before his move to Chelsea in the summer of 2020.
