Hazard and Giroud start, Predicted Chelsea lineup (3-4-3) to face Burnley

18 April 2018 - 13:22

Chelsea make the trip to Lancashire to face Burnley in Thursday's Premier League game. The Blues have the opportunity to close the gap to fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur to just five points and Antonio Conte is likely to name his strongest team possible irrespective of the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday.

  • Arsenal to hijack Chelsea deal for English winger?
  • Arsenal & Chelsea battling to sign Ajax defender

  • Formation: 3-4-3

    Lineup:

Thibaut Courtois could not contain the Saints from scoring last weekend and this sees him stuck on 13 clean sheets for the campaign. He should start in goal on Thursday night.

In central defence, Cesar Azpilicueta and skipper Gary Cahill are likely to return their positions from the previous outing, though Andreas Christensen may be rested in place of Antonio Rudiger, who was left out of the matchday squad altogether last weekend.

Victor Moses should his reclaim his right wing-back spot against Burnley whilst Emerson Palmieri could be handed his Premier League at left wing-back - with Marcos Alonso facing a violent conduct charge for his stamp on Shane Long.

Further forward, Cesc Fabregas and N'Golo Kante are strong candidates to retain their respective midfield roles with Eden Hazard and Willian occupying the left and right-wing respectively.

Olivier Giroud made a match-defining performance against Southampton from the bench with a brace, and this should earn him another league start ahead of Alvaro Morata upfront.
