Predicted Chelsea line-up (3-4-1-2) vs Leeds United, Mount and Saul start

11 May 2022 - 16:33

Chelsea will be aiming to return to winning ways when they face Leeds United on the road tonight. The Blues have picked up just two points from the last three Premier League games.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Formation: 3-4-1-2

    Predicted Line-up:

Edouard Mendy has been an undisputed starter between the sticks, barring his absence for the African Cup of Nations. The Senegal international is expected to continue in goal.

The defence could see a couple of changes. Cesar Azpilicueta could get the axe after a poor display against Wolves. We fancy Andreas Christensen to partner Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger in the back three.

Reece James should be an undisputed starter at right wing-back. On the opposite end, it could be Saul Niguez instead of Marcos Alonso, who may not play again after a bust-up with manager Thomas Tuchel.

In midfield, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mateo Kovacic look on course to start with N'Golo Kante and Jorginho facing a battle to be fit. The duo could be kept afresh for Saturday's FA Cup final against Liverpool.

Further forward, Mason Mount should be reinstated into the starting XI after a rest against Wolves. He should replace Christian Pulisic in the number 10 role behind Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

Lukaku's future has been a big talking point over the past few weeks, but the Belgian has somewhat redeemed himself after scoring a brace against Wolves. He will be determined to impress again.

Predicted Chelsea line-up: Mendy; Christensen, Silva, Rudiger; James, Loftus-Cheek, Kovacic, Saul; Mount; Lukaku, Werner.
