Predicted Chelsea lineup vs Valencia

Chelsea make the trip to the Mestalla to face Valencia in tonight's Champions League clash.

The Blues are equal on points with Ajax and Valencia in their group but they are trailing both of those teams in the head-to-head statistic. As a result, they face the necessity to beat Los Che in order to have their qualification prospects in their own hands.

Predicted Lineup:

Kepa Arrizabalaga has been ever-present for the Blues in both the league and European games and he is expected to start between the sticks. Likewise, the central defence should remain unchanged with Fikayo Tomori continuing to partner Kurt Zouma.

At right-back, Reece James could get the nod ahead of Cesar Azpilicueta, who is likely to slot into the opposite end of the central defence. Emerson has been the regular for the left-back role of late but the Italian did struggle against Manchester City last time out.

In the centre of the park, Lampard should prefer a three-man midfield. With Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley still unavailable due to fitness concerns, it remains pretty straightforward with Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and N'Golo Kante occupying the positions.

In the frontline, Lampard has the temptation of playing Mason Mount but the Englishman did not have the best of games off the bench last weekend. Hence, we are anticipating the same personnel which started against the Cityzens. Christian Pulisic and Willian should feature on the left and right side of the attack with Tammy Abraham leading the line.

Predicted Chelsea XI vs Valencia:  Kepa Arrizabalaga; Reece James, Kurt Zouma, Fikayo Tomori, Cesar Azpilicueta; N'Golo Kante, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic; Willian, Christian Pulisic, Tammy Abraham.
