Predicted Chelsea lineup vs Bayern Munich

Chelsea are scheduled to entertain Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash tonight.

Frank Lampard's side ended a four-match winless streak over the weekend with a win over Tottenham Hotspur but they have a tough test on their hands against the German champions, who are unbeaten in all competitions this year.

Predicted Lineup:

Willy Caballero is expected to start in goal for the Blues. The Argentine has recently got the nod ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga for two straight league games and he should continue between the sticks.

The backline should remain unchanged from the 2-1 derby win over Spurs last weekend. Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta are expected to make the back three with Reece James and Marcos Alonso in the wing-back positions.

In the centre of the park, Jorginho and Matteo Kovacic are expected to start. N'Golo Kante remains unavailable with the muscle injury sustained against Manchester United. Elsewhere, Ruben Loftus-Cheek may settle for a bench role, having just returned after a long-term Achilles injury.

Further forward, Olivier Giroud should lead the line after scoring in his first league start for the Blues in 2020. Behind him, we are fancying Mason Mount and Willian to feature. Willian may get the nod ahead of Ross Barkley, given he has previously stood out with top performances in the European knockout games for Chelsea.
