Predicted Arsenal line-up vs Villarreal, Tierney returns

Arsenal entertain Villarreal in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final tie tonight. The Gunners are trailing 2-1 after the first leg, but they have an away goal in their favour.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping for a strong performance from his players. A 1-0 win would be sufficient to see them through to the final in Gdansk later this month.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

Bernd Leno was handed a breather on Sunday. Mat Ryan started in the 2-0 win over Newcastle United. Leno is expected to return in goal tonight. The German produced two vital saves to keep the Gunners in the tie last week.

There could be a solitary change of personnel in the defence. Kieran Tierney is back after a month lay-off with a knee injury. He should take up the left-back position.

In midfield, Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey are certain to start. Xhaka has played in an unfamiliar left-back position in recent games, but should return to his preferred spot with Tierney's comeback.

Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe are likely to return in the attack and they could take up the positions of Willian and Gabriel Martinelli. No other changes are likely.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appears set to lead the line after bagging a goal and an assist against the Magpies. Alexandre Lacazette is back following a hamstring injury, but he could feature off the bench.

Predicted Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1): Bernd Leno; Hector Bellerin, David Luiz, Gabriel, Kieran Tierney; Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey; Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe; Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
