Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Newcastle United, Silva starts
Chelsea will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they face Newcastle United at St James' Park today.
The Blues are winless in the last four league matches, but a victory today would take them within three points off the top four.
Predicted Line-up:
Edouard Mendy is an assured starter in goal for the London giants with Kepa Arrizabalaga injured. The Senegal star will be eyeing his first clean sheet since August.
The back four should be Cesar Azpilicueta, Trevoh Chalobah, Thiago Silva and Marc Cucurella. Reece James and Ben Chilwell are sidelined with long-term injuries.
Kalidou Koulibaly had a poor outing against Manchester City in the League Cup third round with two notable errors and should be dropped to the bench once more.
In midfield, Jorginho should be welcomed back after a minor foot injury. Mateo Kovacic has generally been his regular partner in N'Golo Kante's injury absence.
Further forward, Mason Mount should be a confirmed starter in the number 10 role. We fancy Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz to return in the XI as well alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The former Arsenal captain was an unused substitute in midweek following a poor showing against the Gunners. The Gabon star will be keen to prove a point versus the Magpies on the road.
Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1): Mendy; Azpilicueta, Chalobah, Silva, Cucurella; Kovacic, Jorginho; Havertz, Mount, Sterling; Aubameyang.
