Predicted Chelsea lineup (3-4-2-1) vs Manchester City, Hazard and Pedro start

How Chelsea could lineup against Man City

Premier League holders Chelsea will look to close the gap on leaders Manchester City when they host them in Saturday's late kickoff from Stamford Bridge. The Blues are currently three points behind Pep Guardiola's side, and even a victory won't assure them of the top spot due to the superior goal difference of both City and Manchester United.

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Lineup:

Thibaut Courtois has played in every game for Chelsea barring the League Cup, and he is a certainty to start in goal. David Luiz will be serving the second game of his three-match suspension, and he could be replaced by Andreas Christensen, who has looked solid at the back. Alongside the Dane, the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta and Gary Cahill could feature in a three-man backline.

Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso have virtually cemented their spots in the right wing-back and left wing-back positions respectively, and there is unlikely to be any change.

Tiemoue Bakayoko earned his second Premier League start at Stoke City last weekend, and he could be backed to start alongside N'Golo Kante at the heart of the midfield.

Eden Hazard scored three goals during Chelsea's double over the Citizens last season, and he could earn his first league start of the campaign alongside Pedro, who was an unused substitute in the Champions League triumph over Atletico Madrid.

Cesc Fabregas has started in every match since the Everton game last month, but Conte is likely to bench the Spaniard after his not so good performance against Atleti.

Alvaro Morata is the joint Premier League top-scorer with six goals, and he is likely to provide a stiff challenge to the likes of John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi with his pace.
