Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Liverpool - League Cup

Arsenal make the trip to Merseyside to face Liverpool in the fourth round of the League Cup tonight.

The Gunners only managed a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace in the league over the weekend and manager Unai Emery will be hoping for a winning outcome at Anfield, though they have struggled against the Reds in the past four years.

The north London giants are winless against the European champions since Jurgen Klopp took charge of the Reds in 2015.

Predicted Lineup:

A complete change of the backline is expected and that should begin from the goalkeeping position. Emiliano Martinez should feature as the Cup goalkeeper with Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi, Rob Holding and Sead Kolasinac making up the four-man defence.

In the midfield, there are likewise changes to be expected. Granit Xhaka has not travelled with the team for the game following his poor reaction towards the club's supporters, who jeered him off the pitch against Palace. Elsewhere, Matteo Guendouzi should at least drop to the bench and this could pave way for Lucas Torreira and Joe Willock to feature in the centre of the park.

Ahead of them, Mesut Ozil seems a likely choice in the number 10 role but there remain question marks regarding his match sharpness, given he has been left out of the playing squad for the past six games. Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe are likely to flank him either side with Gabriel Martinelli getting the chance to lead the line. The Brazilian has excelled from the starting XI and has bagged five goals from the previous three starts.
