Predicted Chelsea line-up vs Atletico Madrid

Chelsea entertain Atletico Madrid in the return leg of the Champions League round of 16 tonight.

The Blues picked up a 1-0 win in the away leg last month where Olivier Giroud scored with a brilliant overhead kick.

The club have kept 10 clean sheets from their 12 games under manager Thomas Tuchel and should fancy their prospects of progressing.

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Predicted Line-up:

Edouard Mendy is the undisputed pick in goal for the Blues. The Senegalese came up with two world-class saves in the 0-0 league draw at Leeds United last weekend.

In the defence, Tuchel may revert to a back three. With Thiago Silva out injured, the manager may go with his preferred combination of Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.

Reece James is likely to return to the line-up after playing a cameo at Elland Road. He could feature in the right wing-back spot with Marcos Alonso replacing Ben Chilwell in the opposite end.

Jorginho is unavailable for the game due to suspension. This should see Mateo Kovacic return to the starting mix to accompany N'Golo Kante at the heart of the midfield.

Mason Mount is another absentee with a suspension after reaching the yellow card limit. Christian Pulisic was not at his best at the weekend and he may drop to the bench for tonight's clash.

We fancy Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kai Havertz to take up the attacking roles behind Olivier Giroud. Giroud has been an unused substitute for the last three games, but his European form has been sublime.

The former Arsenal man has netted six goals from just five appearances and he is likely to get the nod over the misfiring Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham, who is out injured.

Predicted Chelsea line-up (3-4-2-1): Edouard Mendy, Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger, Reece James, Mateo Kovacic, N'Golo Kante, Marcos Alonso, Kai Havertz, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Olivier Giroud.
