Predicted Arsenal lineup (4-3-3) vs Bournemouth, Pepe and Guendouzi start
Arsenal will make the trip to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth in the Boxing Day Premier League clash. The Gunners have picked up just one victory in the past 10 league games but new boss Mikel Arteta will be aiming for a strong start on his managerial debut.
Formation: 4-3-3
Predicted Lineup:
Bernd Leno has been the standout performer for the Gunners in the past few months and he was recently named as the club's Player of the Month for November. The German will definitely start in goal.
In the defence, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Sead Kolasinac should continue to feature in the full-back spots but there should be enforced change in central defence with Calum Chambers suspended for picking up a fifth yellow card of the season at Everton last weekend. Sokratis is likely to return to the starting lineup and he is likely to partner David Luiz, who picked up a rare clean sheet at Goodison Park.
In the centre of the park, Arteta could go with a three-man combination and that could bring Matteo Guendouzi back into the fray. The Frenchman will likely partner Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira at the heart of the midfield. The Gunners have been boosted by the return of Daniel Ceballos to training after his hamstring injury but he may make the bench at best due to his limited fitness.
In the attack front, Gabriel Martinelli could get the nod on the left wing, provided he has recovered from a tight hamstring. On the opposite flank, Nicolas Pepe is likely to feature ahead of Reiss Nelson while Alexandre Lacazette may lead the line. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has looked out of sorts in the past two matches and Arteta may be tempted to drop him in place of Lacazette, who will want to make a point after managing just 12 minutes in the past three league games.
Predicted Arsenal XI: Bernd Leno, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, David Luiz, Bukayo Saka, Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi, Nicolas Pepe, Gabriel Martinelli, Alexandre Lacazette
