Predicted Chelsea line-up vs Man City - FA Cup

Chelsea will be aiming to return to winning ways when they face Manchester City in the FA Cup third round this evening.

The Blues recently suffered a 1-0 loss to the Cityzens in the Premier League at home and they will be aiming to avenge the result.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

Kepa Arrizabalaga has started every game in goal since the World Cup break. The Spaniard was at fault for City's winner in midweek, but should be backed to start based on recent form.

In defence, one change is expected. Thiago Silva should be rested for the third round tie. Trevoh Chalobah should partner Kalidou Koulibaly in central defence.

Cesar Azpilicueta and Marc Cucurella should be nailed-on starters in the right and left-back positions. Likewise, Denis Zakaria and Mateo Kovacic should keep their places in midfield.

Zakaria was hugely impressive with his control in the centre of the park against City. The Swiss is finally living up to the expectations after a difficult start to his career at Chelsea.

In attack, Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz could start in the wide attacking roles following the injuries for Christian Pulisic and Raheem Sterling. Mason Mount is currently doubtful.

Carney Chukwuemeka should feature in the attacking midfield role after a top-class performance against the Cityzens coming off the bench. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is likely to lead the line.

Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1): Arrizabalaga; Azpilicueta, Chalobah, Koulibaly, Cucurella; Zakaria, Kovacic; Ziyech, Chukwuemeka, Havertz; Aubameyang.
